Granules: 3 to 9g per day, divided into two doses.
Note: Best taken with warm water. For respiratory issues, taking one dose in the late afternoon is particularly effective to counter the evening rise of "Empty Fire."
Zi Yin Jiang Huo Tang is a powerful formula for when Yin deficiency has progressed to the point of creating active, rising fire.
Sheng Di and Shu Di Huang are the Chiefs; they work together to flood the Kidney and Liver with deep moisture, cooling the blood and rebuilding the body's foundation.
Tian Men Dong and Mai Men Dong specifically target the Upper Burner, moistening the Lungs and Throat to stop the dry, irritative cough.
Zhi Mu and Huang Bai are the "Fire-Descenders"; they drain the "Empty Heat" that flares up from the Kidneys, addressing the root of the night sweats and tidal fever.
Dang Gui and Bai Shao nourish the Blood, as Blood and Yin have the same origin (Tong Yuan).
Chen Pi is a crucial addition to prevent the heavy, "sticky" Yin tonics from clumping together and causing indigestion or bloating.
Zhi Gan Cao harmonizes the formula and protects the stomach.
STRICTLY CONTRAINDICATED for Spleen/Stomach Cold-Damp (chronic diarrhea, pale tongue, poor appetite).
Not for use during the early stage of a cold/flu (Exterior syndromes).
Avoid in cases of excess heat with a thick, yellow, greasy tongue coating.
