Description
Shi Shen Tang embodies a refined balance between deep nourishment and gentle clearing, addressing the complex presentation of Yin deficiency with residual Heat.
At its core, Sheng Di Huang, Bai Shao, and Dang Gui restore and enrich the Blood and Yin, forming the nutritive foundation necessary for recovery. This is complemented by Tian Men Dong and Mai Men Dong, which replenish fluids, moisten dryness, and support Lung and Kidney Yin.
To prevent stagnation and address the presence of deficiency Heat, Zhi Mu, Di Gu Pi, and Mu Dan Pi clear Heat from the Blood and Yin levels without damaging the body’s essential substances. These herbs ensure that nourishment does not lead to internal constraint, maintaining dynamic balance.
Finally, Ren Shen and Gan Cao gently support Qi, ensuring that the body can properly assimilate the nourishing herbs and restore its functional strength. This integration of Qi and Yin tonification reflects the classical principle that fluids and Essence depend on Qi for their transformation and distribution.
STRICTLY CONTRAINDICATED for Wind-Heat (sore throat, yellow phlegm, red tongue).
Use with caution in cases of Spontaneous Sweating (Yin deficiency or Exterior deficiency).
