Qing Zao Jiu Fei Tang moistens the Lungs, clears external dryness, and supports Qi and Yin. It is indicated for dryness injuring the Lungs, often during seasonal dryness, with cough, thirst, and irritability.

Description
Qing Zao Jiu Fei Tang addresses Lung dryness injuring Yin, supporting fluid balance and Qi to restore proper Lung function:
Sang Ye moistens Lung Yin, clears mild Lung heat, and alleviates dry cough.
Shi Gao clears heat and prevents further injury to Lung fluids.
Mai Men Dong nourishes Yin of the Lungs and Stomach, promoting fluid production.
E Jiao enriches Yin and blood, moistens Lungs, and stops cough from deficiency.
Hou Ma Ren lubricates the intestines, relieving constipation caused by dryness.
Xing Ren stops cough, directs Lung Qi downward, and transforms phlegm.
Ren Shen and Tai Zi Shen tonify Qi, strengthen the Lungs and Spleen, and support overall fluid metabolism.
Gan Cao harmonizes the formula, soothes the throat, and moderates interactions between herbs.
Combined, these herbs moisten the Lungs, nourish Yin, clear mild heat, support Qi, and relieve coughing, particularly for dryness-related respiratory conditions.
Posology
Granules
3–9 g daily, divided into 1–3 doses, dissolved in warm water.
Raw Herbs
Decoct in 600–1000 ml water; drink 1–2 cups daily.
Contraindications
Avoid in cold-damp or phlegm-fluid patterns.
Not suitable for patients with exterior wind-cold without dryness.
Use cautiously in excessive heat or Yin deficiency without dryness.
