This condition is warm-dryness attacking the Lungs, damaging both qi and yin. Deputies Gypsum fibrosum (shi gao) clears heat and relieves thirst, while Ophiopogonis Radix (mai men dong) nourishes yin and protects the Lungs. Assistants like Asini Corii Colla and Sesami Semen nigrum moisten the Lungs, Armeniacae Semen and honey-prepared Eriobotryae Folium descend Lung qi, and Ginseng Radix or Glehniae/Pseudostellariae Radix tonify qi and support Lung yin. Glycyrrhizae Radix harmonizes the formula.
