Yang-Warming & Exterior-Releasing • Sweat-Stopping & Muscle-Relaxing Formula

Symptoms

Sweating: Continuous, unchecked sweating ("leaking" sweat), often triggered or worsened after inappropriate or excessive sweating was induced.

Aversion to Cold: Severe aversion to wind and cold, as the depleted Yang fails to protect and warm the body's surface.

Limbs & Muscles: Mild stiffness, cramping, or difficulty bending and extending the arms and legs (due to a lack of Yang warming and fluid depletion failing to nourish the tendons).

Urination: Difficulty in urination or slightly reduced urinary output.

Tongue: Pale, wet body with a thin, white, or slippery coating.

Pulse: Floating (Fu) and weak (Ruo), or deep (Chen) and faint (Wei).

Description

Gui Zhi Jia Fu Zi Tang addresses an exterior Taiyang pattern that has been mismanaged with excessive diaphoresis, resulting in damaged exterior Yang and depleted fluids.

Gui Zhi and Bai Shao form the foundational pair; they harmonize the Ying (nutritive) and Wei (defensive) levels to stop unchecked sweating while gently clearing lingering exterior pathogens.

Sheng Jiang assists Gui Zhi in dispersing residual cold, warming the exterior, and supporting the Middle Jiao.

Zhi Gan Cao and Da Zao work together to nourish Middle Jiao Qi, generate new fluids, and harmonize the active ingredients to prevent further depletion.

Contraindications

STRICTLY CONTRAINDICATED for cases of excess heat, Yin deficiency with dry heat, or profuse sweating caused by high interior fevers (such as Yangming channel heat).

Avoid using when exterior symptoms are accompanied by strong interior phlegm-damp stagnation without proper modifications.
