Diffuse the Lungs & Calm Wheezing • Clear Heat & Transform Phlegm
Symptoms
Acute Wheezing & Dyspnea: Labored breathing with a whistling sound in the throat (audible wheezing).
Productive Cough: Thick, yellow, or "sticky" sputum that is difficult to expectorate.
Chest Oppression: A sensation of fullness or "tightness" in the chest that prevents deep inhalation.
Concurrent Exterior Signs: Aversion to cold, chills, or a mild fever (indicating the Wind-Cold is still present on the skin).
Key Indicator: "Internal Heat with External Constriction"—imagine a boiling pot with a lid clamped tight. The steam (Qi) has nowhere to go but up, causing the "rebellious" gasping for air.
Tongue: Red body with a thick, yellow, greasy coating.
Pulse: Slippery and rapid.

Description
Ding Chuan Tang works by simultaneously "opening the lid" and "dousing the fire." It balances herbs that push upward and outward with those that pull downward.
The Opening Pair (Xing Ren): Xing Ren assists by directing the Lung Qi downward, creating a "pumping" action that restores normal breathing.
The Astringent Guard (Bai Guo): This is the unique "Chief" stabilizer. While Ma Huang opens the Lungs, Bai Guo prevents over-expansion and helps "consolidate" the Lung Qi so it doesn't leak away during the struggle to breathe.
The Heat-Clearing Pair (Huang Qin & Sang Bai Pi): These are bitter and cold. They "drain" the yellow fire-phlegm from the Lungs and cool the inflammation in the bronchioles.
The Phlegm-Descending Trio (Ban Xia, Su Zi, Kuan Dong Hua): These herbs focus on the "physical" obstruction. They transform thick phlegm into fluid and force it downward, clearing the "pipes" of the respiratory system.
Posology
Granules: 3 to 9g daily, divided into 2–3 doses, taken with warm water.
Raw Plants: Decoct in 800ml of water. Drink 1 to 3 cups per day. In acute asthma attacks, the dose is often concentrated and taken warm.
Spoons:
Our measuring spoons have an approximate capacity of 0.50 g. This should be taken into consideration when following the recommended dosage instructions for each product.
Cautions
Strictly contraindicated for wheezing due to Lung/Kidney Deficiency (chronic "hollow" wheezing with no phlegm). This is a strong, dispersing formula for Excess patterns only. Discontinue use once the acute wheezing and yellow phlegm have resolved.
