Dang Gui Bu Xue Tang is a classical formula designed to tonify Qi and generate Blood, while anchoring floating Yang caused by Blood deficiency. It is traditionally used when Qi is insufficient to secure the Blood, leading to deficient Heat signs such as warmth in the muscles, flushing, and thirst with a preference for warm drinks.

This formula reflects a core principle of Chinese medicine: Qi is the commander of Blood, and Blood is the mother of Qi. By strongly supplementing Qi and gently nourishing Blood, the formula restores internal harmony and prevents the outward dispersion of Yang.

Symptoms

This formula is traditionally indicated for patterns characterized by:
