This formula is indicated for excess heat in the yang brightness organs, heat clumping with circumfluence, and heat inversion, presenting with severe constipation, abdominal fullness and distention, flatulence, fever, thirst, delirium, and sweating from the palms and soles. It addresses interior heat obstructing the intestines, transforming viscous fluids, promoting downward qi flow, and relieving abdominal tension. The combination of herbs targets focal distention, fullness, dryness, and excess, while also protecting yin, clearing heat, and resolving toxicity, preventing further complications such as mania or heat inversion.
