Description
Da Jian Zhong Tang is the "emergency rescue" formula for the Middle Burner. It doesn't just warm; it aggressively expels internal Cold while providing the raw energy needed to restart digestion.
Shu Jiao (Sichuan Pepper) is the chief; it is extremely warming and pungent. It "awakens" the Spleen and Kidney Yang and is highly effective at stopping internal spasmodic pain.
Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger) acts as the deputy, warming the Middle and dispelling the "frozen" dampness that accompanies extreme Cold.
Ren Shen (Ginseng) provides immediate support to the Zheng Qi (Upright Qi), ensuring the body has the strength to process the warming herbs and move the stagnant Cold.
Yi Tang (Maltose) provides a sweet, soothing base that nourishes the Spleen and moderates the harsh, burning qualities of the Pepper and Ginger.
Contraindications
Strictly contraindicated for Heat patterns or inflammation (e.g., acute appendicitis with fever).
Not for use in Yin deficiency with heat signs (night sweats, red tongue).
Contraindicated during pregnancy due to the highly stimulating and downward-moving nature of Shu Jiao.
Use with caution in patients with high blood pressure.
