 Zhen Wu Tang warms Kidney and Spleen Yang, supports proper fluid metabolism, and resolves retention of water due to Yang deficiency. It is indicated for edema, dizziness, urinary difficulty, and digestive weakness associated with Spleen and Kidney Yang deficiency.

Description

Zhen Wu Tang treats Kidney and Spleen Yang deficiency with water retention, where a lack of Yang fails to transform and transport fluids, leading to accumulation and cold signs.

Fu Ling (Poria) drains dampness, strengthens Spleen function, and harmonizes fluid metabolism.

Bai Zhu (Atractylodis macrocephalae Rhizoma) tonifies Spleen Yang, stabilizes the middle burner, and prevents further fluid stagnation.

Bai Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix alba) nourishes blood and preserves Yin while softening the Liver, balancing the warming herbs to prevent over-drying.

Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma recens) warms the middle burner, supports digestion, and aids Yang in transforming fluids.

Together, these herbs restore Yang, harmonize fluid distribution, strengthen the middle burner, and reduce symptoms of edema and weakness.

 

Posology

Granules
3–9g daily, divided into 1–3 doses, taken warm.

Raw Herbs
Decoct in 800–1000ml water. Drink 1–3 cups daily.

 

Contraindications

Not indicated for Yin deficiency with heat signs.

Use with caution in cases of severe dryness or overactive heat.

Professional consultation recommended for chronic edema or heart/kidney disease.
