PLANT DESCRIPTION

This formula clears heat, unblocks the nose, and disperses Lung qi. Magnoliae Flos (xin yi) is the chief herb, supported by heat-clearing herbs (huang qin, zhi zi, zhi mu, shi gao) and yin-nourishing herbs (mai men dong, bai he). Eriobotryae Folium (pi pa ye) and Cimicifugae Rhizoma (sheng ma) regulate qi, while Glycyrrhizae Radix (gan cao) harmonizes the formula.

Directions of use:

Pogostemonis/Agastaches Folium (hu xiang ye) revives the Spleen, and Glycyrrhizae Radix (gan cao) with honey and wine harmonizes the middle burner and the formula’s actions.
