Gan Lu Yin (literally translated as "Sweet Dew Beverage") is a clinically refined formula designed to address a complex dual presentation: Stomach and Kidney Yin Deficiency occurring simultaneously with Damp-Heat Accumulation that flares upward into the mouth and throat.
Sheng Di Huang, Shu Di Huang, Tian Men Dong, Mai Men Dong, and Shi Hu act synergistically as the foundational block of nourishment. Together, they flood the Stomach and Kidneys with pure fluids, extinguishing dryness and preventing "deficiency fire" from burning the oral mucosa.
Huang Qin and Yin Chen fulfill the essential role of clearing heat and draining stagnant dampness from the Stomach and Liver/Gallbladder channels. This action cleanses the metabolic root cause of bad breath and gum inflammation.
Zhi Ke and Pi Pa Ye harmonize Qi dynamics. By directing rebellious Stomach and Lung Qi downward, these herbs relieve a stifling sensation in the chest and prevent heat from vaporizing upward toward the head.
Gan Cao serves as the great harmonizer, softening the digestive impact of the intensely cold herbs and unifying the action of the tonifying and clearing ingredients.
STRICTLY CONTRAINDICATED for patients with Spleen and Stomach Yang Deficiency (characterized by extremely slow digestion, chronically loose/watery stools, abdominal pain that improves with warmth, and aversion to cold).
Should not be used during the acute phases of exterior syndromes (like colds or flu), as the rich, mucilaginous herbs can trap the pathogen inside the body.
