PLANT DESCRIPTION

This is the combined formula of Xie Xin Tang and Si Ni Tang. It is a formula for heat diseases in cold constitution. It has the function to clear the above and warm the below. It is applicable to patients characterized by vexation，agitation，bleeding，pi syndrome below the heart，mouth ulcer，diarrhea，dispirited listlessness，pale tongue，and weak pulse.

Formula Composition

  • Da Huang（Radix et Rhizoma Rhei Crudi），10g
  • Huang Lian（Rhizoma Coptidis），5g
  • Huang Qin（Radix Scutellariae），5g
  • [Zhi］ Fu Zi（Radix Aconiti Lateralis Praeparata），10g
  • Gan Jiang（Rhizoma Zingiberis Exsiccatum），10g
  • Zhi Gan Cao（Radix Glycyrrhizae Praeparata），5g

 
TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Decoction
Place the medicinals in 800 mL water and boil until 300 mL remains. Take the decoction warm，in 2 to 3 doses.

Suitable Population
Common in middle-aged and elderly people ； generally with dark or dull-sallow skin，enormous appetite，but tendency to have abdominal distention and diarrhea ； typically with enlarged tongue，sunken and weak pulse.
