Ma Xing Gan Shi Tang uses a unique "Hot and Cold" synergy.
Shi Gao is the deputy; it is very cold and clears the "stifling" heat trapped in the Lungs.
Xing Ren (Apricot Seed) assists in descending the Lung Qi and stopping the cough.
Zhi Gan Cao harmonizes the formula and protects the Stomach from the harshness of the mineral Shi Gao.
Contraindicated for Wheezing due to Cold (no fever, thin white sputum—use Xiao Qing Long Tang instead).
Not for use in cases of Yin Deficiency with dry cough and no heat.
Discontinue use once the heat is cleared and breathing is easy.
