Description
Gui Zhi Jia Long Gu Mu Li Tang is based on Gui Zhi Tang, which harmonizes the Ying (nutritive) and Wei (defensive) Qi. This modification adds Long Gu and Mu Li to anchor Yang, calm the spirit, and secure Essence.
It is particularly suited for patterns where deficiency of Heart Yang or instability of Ying and Wei leads to emotional disturbance, palpitations, insomnia, and leakage disorders.
Gui Zhi warms and unblocks Yang Qi while harmonizing the Ying and Wei levels, addressing spontaneous sweating and emotional lability.
Bai Shao nourishes Yin and Blood, softens the Liver, and moderates the warming action of Gui Zhi to maintain balance.
Sheng Jiang and Da Zao support the middle burner and protect digestion while assisting the harmonizing effect.
Gan Cao tonifies Qi and harmonizes the formula.
Long Gu (Dragon Bone) strongly anchors floating Yang, calms the spirit, and prevents leakage of Essence. It is essential for treating palpitations, anxiety, and spermatorrhea.
Mu Li (Oyster Shell) also anchors Yang, softens hardness, and helps secure Essence while calming agitation and irritability.
Together, the formula harmonizes internal imbalance, stabilizes Yang, calms the Shen, and prevents loss of fluids or Essence, making it appropriate for emotional and constitutional instability rooted in deficiency.
