Dai Zhe Xuan Fu Tang is specifically designed for "Stomach Qi Deficiency with Phlegm Turbidity." When the Spleen/Stomach system is weak, thin phlegm accumulates and blocks the path of Qi. This causes the Stomach Qi to "rebel" and surge upward instead of descending.
Dai Zhe Shi (Hematite) is the heavy mineral anchor that directs rebellious Qi back down and stops hiccups/belching.
Xuan Fu Hua is the only flower in the pharmacopeia with a purely descending nature; it transforms phlegm and assists in harmonizing the Stomach.
Sheng Jiang and Zhi Ban Xia work together to dry the "damp phlegm" in the Middle Burner and stop nausea. The high dose of Ginger is vital for "breaking through" the stagnation.
Ren Shen, Da Zao, and Zhi Gan Cao address the root cause by tonifying the Qi of the Spleen and Stomach.
Contraindicated for Stomach Heat patterns (reflux with a burning sensation, thirst for cold, and a red tongue).
Not for use in rebellious Qi caused by Liver-Stomach disharmony (emotional stress causing reflux).
Use with caution during pregnancy due to the heavy, downward-pulling nature of the mineral Hematite.
