Chai Hu Qing Gan Tang is a formula designed to resolve Shao Yang disorders, harmonize Liver and Gallbladder, clear Heat, and relieve stagnation. It combines herbs that release exterior and clear Wind-Heat with herbs that cool the Blood, nourish Yin, and harmonize the Liver. This formula is commonly applied to conditions where Heat in the Shao Yang or Liver channels produces fever, irritability, headaches, or dysmenorrhea.

Symptoms 

  • Fever, chills, alternating heat and cold

  • Headache (especially temporal or vertex)

  • Hypochondriac pain, irritability

  • Red or flushed eyes

  • Menstrual irregularities, dysmenorrhea, scanty menses

  • Thirst, dry throat, or mouth ulcers

  • Sore throat, cough with yellow sputum

  • Red tongue, yellow coating; wiry or rapid pulse

These symptoms reflect Shao Yang and Liver channel heat, Blood or Yin deficiency, and Liver Qi stagnation with Heat.

Directions of use:
