Description
Bu Yang Huan Wu Tang operates on a unique clinical theory: "Qi is the commander of Blood." When Qi is severely deficient, it lacks the "push" to move Blood through the channels. This leads to stagnation and "clumping," which prevents nourishment from reaching the limbs and brain, resulting in paralysis.
Sheng Huang Qi is the "Super-Chief." At 120g, it serves as a massive engine, flooding the body with Wei and Ying Qi. This "reverse pressure" forces the Blood to move through previously blocked or atrophied channels.
Dang Gui, Chi Shao, and Chuan Xiong are the deputies. They nourish and invigorate the Blood, ensuring that as the Qi pushes forward, the Blood is thin and fluid enough to circulate into the smallest capillaries.
Tao Ren and Hong Hua (Peach Kernel and Safflower) are the "Stasis-Breakers." They specifically target fixed blood clots and obstructions in the collateral vessels (luo channels).
Di Long (Earthworm) is the Assistant. In TCM, earthworms are known to "unblock the collaterals" because they move through the earth just as they move through the human body's pathways, specifically targeting numbness and spasms in the limbs.
Together, this formula doesn't just "clear a blockage"; it provides the energetic "power" (Qi) necessary to restore the body's functional movement and speech.
Contraindications
Strictly contraindicated during the acute stage of a stroke (cerebral hemorrhage or high-pressure events). It is only for the recovery stage (sequelae). Not for use in patients with Yin deficiency or Liver Yang Rising (high blood pressure, red tongue, dizziness). Use with extreme caution and only under professional supervision.
